Regarding the hanger type shot blasting machine for transformer tanks, cause the transformer tanks have very complicated structure, the smooth surface of tanks can easily reach to SA1/2, but for the very narrow corner space it is very hard to reach SA1/2, so if the customer has very strict requirement on the blasting effect, the tanks need to do the additional blasting jobs by manual. The recommended steel shot is QS0.5 or similar in size.
The transformer tank should be lifting from the lugs for hoist hanger system. The transformer tanks should be with a cover during shot blasting, or it needs to pour out the used steel shot inside the tanks after completing the shot blasting job. The whole shot blasting machine needs 6-8 bar compressed air, and it needs around 0.5m3/min compressed air for the blasting turbines cylinder control and dust collector pulse jet cartridge self-cleaning.
We advise the customer use the blasting pot to do the additional blasting works, the customer can do the additional manual blasting jobs inside the hanger type shot blasting machine chamber directly, and the dust collector turns on during the manual job inside the hanger shot blasting machine chamber. this will save lots of space and other equipment like as the used steel shot reclaim equipment, etc.
